ABOUT US

Melanated Homeschool Cooperative, Inc. was initially formed in the Summer 2021 by a group of enthusiastic moms looking for a safe space to form a homeschooling community for families of color and their allies.  Our time together is devoted to building community and enriching our families beyond the books!

In the Summer of 2022 we became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

MISSION: 

To cultivate a safe space for homeschool families of color that empowers and supports our future leaders through social emotional learning, community building and enrichment opportunities.

VISION:

To become the premier homeschool co-op for families of color.

WHO WE SERVE:

Melanated Homeschool Cooperative is here to primarily serve families of color. We welcome families of all make-ups, even those without parents or children of color.  We are ultimately creating a community where our children feel safe and we welcome anyone who shares this same goal.

WHAT WE DO:

Melanated Homeschool Cooperative, Inc. enriches the homeschool experience of children of color by:

-Facilitating opportunities to develop social emotional skills

-Focusing on enrichment experiences that speak directly to communities of color

-Providing student directed educational opportunities
